T-Mobile says the Galaxy S6 and HTC One M9 are already more successful than the S5 and M8
Starting tomorrow, April 10, US customers will be able to go in stores and buy a Samsung Galaxy S6, a Samsung Galaxy S6 edge, or an HTC One M9 (either unlocked, or from a major carrier).

While reminding us that the S6, S6 edge and One M9 will be widely available tomorrow, T-Mobile also mentioned that, since it began taking orders and shipping the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, "customer response has been through the roof." According to the magenta carrier, Galaxy S6 series sales are already "nearly double" those of the S5 (which was previously T-Mobile's most popular Galaxy handset).

The HTC One M9 is also successful, at least compared to the One M8: T-Mobile says that, in the first 10 days of availability, M9 sales have surpassed sales of the former HTC flagship for the same period of time.

Here are the prices of the three new Android smartphones from T-Mobile:

  • HTC One M9: $649.92, or $0 down and $27.08 per month for 24 months
  • Samsung Galaxy S6: starting at $679.92, or $28.33 per month for 24 months
  • Samsung Galaxy S6 edge: starting at $779.76, or $32.49 per month for 24 months
Buyers of the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge can get a 1-year Netflix subscription for free if they make the purchase before April 12.

Samsung Galaxy S6 edge vs Galaxy Note 4 user comparison results: we have a clear winner!

The Galaxy S6 edge already aiming at the topmost tier of Samsung's portfolio, as it's a pretty well-spec'd phone that is the most serious embodiment of Samsung's design and engineering prowess to date. Currently, the throne is occupied by the Galaxy Note 4, a noteworthy feature-packed phablet that comfortably sits at the top of Samsung's device range.

That's why last week we decided to ask you whether the Galaxy S6 edge is indeed a better phone than the venerable S Pen-enabled phablet, or the Note 4 still remains the undisputed ruler of Samsung's kingdom. Well, according to you at least, newer is better - the Galaxy S6 edge easily steals the throne from the Note 4.

The smartphone with the curved display easily won in our latest comparison, significantly overshadowing the Galaxy Note 4. From the 5,851 people that took part in our comparison, some 3,671 favored the Galaxy S6 edge and deemed it the winner. In the meantime, the Note 4 attracted some 2,180 fans to its cause, but this was not enough.

Broken down by segments, 1,166 voters (67.59%) found the design of the Galaxy S6 edge more appealing; 880 (61.54%) people claimed that its display is better (judging by the specs and display measurements, that is). Moreover, 836 voters (61.83%) revealed that the new rendition of TouchWiz on the S6 edge is better than the Note 4's functional and feature-rich interface. Last but not least, the S6 edge wins over in the important camera comparison - 789 voters (60.51%) think that it's equipped with a better-performing camera.

Some Galaxy S6 units have a LED flash that refuses to stop working, Samsung promises a fix
The Samsung Galaxy S6 got this close to being perfect, but shipping the flagship and its edgy compatriot to the cheering masses has been anything but free of problems. Following those early T-Mobile units that came to customers scratched all over, another issue began rearing its head, and this time, it seems to occur on Galaxy S6 units globally.

What's the fuss about this time? Apparently, the LED flash on the GS6 seems to be confusing itself for the Eternal Flame, and it stays on constantly, even when it's not supposed to be in use! Although it's not engaged in maximum brightness mode, the LED is nevertheless active, and its light is noticeable in dim conditions. Users at XDA Developers theorize that a small amount of current is leaking to the LED light, because the problem manifests itself even when the smartphone is powered off.

The good news here is that Samsung has been made aware of the issue and claims it will solve it in a future software update, which means the flaw isn't buried in the hardware and you shouldn't hurry to return your new GS6 just yet. And to end this piece with a mammoth punchline, here's what a cunning XDA user had to say on the matter:

"SAMSUNG WEREN'T JOKING WHEN THEY SAID THE GALAXY S6 WOULD BE THE FLASHIEST OF THE SERIES."
