Often heralded as the "Netflix of gaming," the Xbox Game Pass gives you a lot of games for a small monthly subscription. Now, you'll get even more bang for your buck as Microsoft has announced the inclusion of EA Play into the pass at no additional cost.
Microsoft made the announcement on the official Xbox YouTube channel, which showcased what its partnership with EA will mean for Xbox fans.
This new collaboration means that Xbox Game Pass holders will unlock 60 more EA-developed games at no additional cost to them. Just in case you're (somehow) getting to the end of your game pass catalog, you'll soon have a lot more to play.
There is a slight catch, however; the EA Play add-on is only available to those who have either an Ultimate-tier or the PC Game Pass. If you have neither, you'll need to upgrade to get the EA Play catalog.
If you're all set to get EA Play on your Xbox or PC, you'll get access to the library starting from the holiday season of 2020.
This is great news for people who use the Xbox All Access plan to pay for their consoles, as the plan comes with 24 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
Furthermore, on the official Xbox Series X release date and price announcement, Microsoft confirmed that Xbox All Access will also be available for the next generation of consoles. This means people who get the Xbox Series X All Access plan will have a lot to play from day one.
As the next-gen console wars begin to build up, Microsoft is keen to give Xbox fans a lot of value for their money. Who knows---perhaps other companies will hop on the Game Pass in the future?
This isn't the first time that Microsoft has enhanced the Xbox Game Pass with value at no extra cost. Previously, the company allowed Ultimate-tier pass holders to test out the new Project xCloud.
