This year’s holiday shopping season will undoubtedly be happening mostly online due to coronavirus fears and lockdowns.
The latest study by AdColony reveals that 86% of shoppers plan to order products online and have them delivered to their homes.
Over half (58%) are now using their smartphones to check out products online, ahead of desktops (32%) and tablets (10%).
Over a third of them (36%) are using only their smartphones to shop with 46% preferring to shop in-app.
The findings also spill good news for advertisers with 76% of consumers happy to make a purchase directly from an ad they’ve seen on mobile.
The leading categories for mCommerce included clothing (74%), electronics and gift cards (50% each) and groceries (45%).
Meanwhile, the factors that matter the most to mobile shoppers are easy navigation (50%), simple payment procedures (25%), and exclusive deals (14%).
A whopping 62% now agree that having a mobile device to compare prices while shopping in-store is important.
