Japanese mobile games accounted for 22% of global revenues

Japan accounted for 22% of global mobile gaming revenues during the first nine months of 2020.
That’s according to new research by SafeBettingSites.com.

Revenues from Japanese mobile games are projected to reach $6.85 million this year and is set to rise almost 4.9% year-on-year.

The number of gamers is projected to jump 5.9% to 34.4 million.

Among the top 10 publishers were Bandai Namco which generated $1.5 billion and Square Enix which had $1.2 billion in revenues.

The US led in terms of global mobile gaming revenues, accounting for 28% of the share. China ranked third behind Japan at an 18% market share.

Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle generated $273.5 million outside of the Japanese market, followed by Fate/Grand Order at $273.3 million, making them two of the top grossing games.
