Snapchat has launched a new feature that lets people add music from a catalogue of various artists to their Snaps.
If that sounds familiar then it’s because Snapchat has taken a page out of TikTok’s playbook.
The addition is called Sounds. Snapchatters will be able to add music to their Snaps before or after they shoot a video.
The feature is now live for iOS users worldwide. It’s not entirely clear if the function is ready for Android just yet.
Users who view the music Snaps can swipe up to view album art, song title and the name of an artist.
There’ll also be a ‘Play this song’ look so a recipient can more easily listen to a track from a shared Snap via Spotify, Apple Music or SoundCloud.
Sounds was launched with an exclusive song by Justin Bieber and Benny Blanco.
Snap is also testing the ability to let users create their own sounds.
