TikTok apparently plans to hire some 3,000 engineers in the coming three years across Europe, Canada and Singapore according to Reuters.
It signals the popular video app’s commitment to expand despite some uncertainty over the business in the US.
Nevertheless, TikTok will be hiring more engineers in the US too.
Right now, it boasts a network of over 1,000 engineers outside of mainland China with approximately half of them based in California.
Parent ByteDance on Wednesday decided to counter-sue rival Triller in a US patent infringement case.
Triller had sued the company for infringing on its patents for music videos containing synchronised audio.
Now ByteDance has fired back and request the court to resolve the issue, saying none of its products were infringing on Triller patents.
