EPOS Launches GTW 270 Hybrid Wireless Gaming Earbuds

Premium audio hardware company EPOS is launching its new GTW 270 Hybrid wireless earbuds, blending gamers and audiophiles' audio requirements into a stylish package.

The GTW 270 Hybrid earbuds will feature both standard Bluetooth and aptX low-latency playback for excellent audio quality, no matter which gaming platform you use.

EPOS Launches GTW 270 Hybrid Wireless Earbuds

The EPOS GTW 270 Hybrid earbuds are the dawn of a new era for the audio hardware company, launching as the first gaming earbuds to carry just the EPOS name. EPOS split from partners Sennheiser midway through 2020 and has gone on to launch several new products since.

Now, the GTW 270 Hybrid's are targeting the vast gaming market, aiming to deliver the companies signature audio quality into the busy marketplace.

The EPOS GTW 270 Hybrid earbuds include standard Bluetooth 5.1 along with the aptX low-latency codec, the latter of which requires a USB Type-C dongle. The inclusion of aptX low-latency should significantly reduce any dropouts or audio interference while gaming, while you can opt for a regular Bluetooth connection at other times.

The earbuds feature a closed-back design for maximum immersion, with both earbuds packing in a handy microphone for in-game communication, phone-calls, or otherwise. The microphones are omnidirectional and rated up to -20 dBV sensitivity, which will keep your voice clear in-game.

Using a database of 800,000 unique ear scans provided by EPOS' parent company, Demant, the earbuds have been crafted to relieve pressure on the "non-flexible parts of the ear." Combined with the interchangeable tips, you should be able to wear the GTW 270's for hours of gaming without getting tired.

In terms of battery and playtime, the GTW 270 earbuds themselves allow five hours of playback, with another 15 hours of charge in the carry case.

While that isn't the longest battery life, the flip side is that the earbuds only take 90 minutes to fully charge, with a full charge for the carry case taking marginally longer. You can also grab up to one hour of playback on a rapid 15-minute charge, great for when you're heading out.

Finally, the EPOS GTW 270 Hybrid wireless earbuds are rated IPX5, which will protect against light rain and sweat.

Gaming With EPOS Earbuds

The EPOS GTW 270 Hybrid wireless earbuds are compatible with PC, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and Android devices. The new gaming earbuds will be £179 ($250) at launch, while a dongle-free iteration will be available for £149 ($205).
