Podimo, the subscription audio app that features stories and podcasts, just raised €11.2 million in funding. The round was led by Chr. Augustinus investment fund and had participation from existing investors.
Podimo was launched in 2019. The app provides personalised recommendations for listeners.
Once subscribed, users gain access to some 600 shows. It offers creators a share of the revenues that it makes.
The app is live in Germany, Denmark and Spanish markets.
What makes Podimo stand out is its focus on personalised content. In that sense, it’s a bit like Pinterest for podcast and story fans.
Users discover new content that matches their profile while creators are rewarded for sharing their content on the platform.
It relies heavily on its relation to creators and hopes that by offering solid rewards, more audio producers will flock to the app to feature their content.
The app plans to use the latest cash injection to expand internationally and boost its product.
