The Surface Duo didn't get rave reviews when it first came out, but Microsoft is slowly adding more and more features to its two-screen wonder. Now, seemingly out of the blue, the Redmond company has added special functionality for playing Xbox Game Pass games on the Surface Duo.

News of this development broke via Tom Warren, a Senior Editor at The Verge. Warren posted a tweet that showed off the Xbox Game Pass running on a Surface Duo.

While this development is a big surprise for Duo owners, Microsoft has always said it wanted to get the Xbox Game Pass on as many devices as possible. It even went on record to say that it would buddy up with Nintendo if it could.
An Unlikely Duo in Microsoft's Ecosystem
Early reviewers of the Surface Duo wanted more from the device, but none of them could have predicted that Microsoft would add special functionality to play the Xbox Game Pass on it. Fortunately, you'll soon be able to do just that using the Duo's unique screen setup.
If you're curious about the Surface Duo's early reviews, critics slammed the device's buggy software and high price point, both of which Microsoft has fixed ahead of the Duo's international release.
