Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 Gets a $200 Price Cut in the US
The unlocked Galaxy Z Fold 2 carried a retail price of $1,999 when it first launched in 2020. However, post the $200 price cut, it can now be purchased for $1,799 in the US. In February 2021, Samsung had slashed the price of the Galaxy Z Flip, its other foldable device, by $250. If any of your friends or family member already owns a Samsung foldable device, you can get a referral code from them to get an additional $100 off. Your friend will also get $100 in Samsung.com credit, which they can use towards accessories.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 is already available at its reduced price tag across various retailers, including Best Buy and Amazon. Alternatively, you can also buy the foldable directly from Samsung.com. If you activate a new line with Verizon or AT&T while buying the Galaxy Z Fold 2, you can save an additional $250 on the device.
Samsung was previously running a program in the US in which it allowed you to try out a Galaxy Z Fold 2 or the Galaxy Z Flip 5G for 100 days. At the end of the trial, you could return the device back to Samsung if you did not like it.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 Is One of the Best Foldable Devices
The Galaxy Z Fold 2 is arguably the best foldable device in the market right now. It features a 6.23-inch Super AMOLED cover display and unfolding the device reveals a 7.6-inch 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED display.
The device is powered by the Snapdragon 865 chip and packs 12GB RAM with 256/512GB storage. It features a triple camera setup, which includes a 12MP f/1.8 aperture primary shooter with OIS and a 12MP ultra-wide. There's also a 10MP cover camera for selfie purposes.
Foldable Devices Are the Future
Even at the new lowered price, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 is almost twice as expensive as other Android flagships out there. However, foldable devices have not yet gone mainstream, though they are definitely the future.
As foldable devices become more and more affordable, consumer adoption will pick up as well thereby helping them become mainstream.
