Snap, the maker of popular teen app Snapchat, has partnered with Poshmark, an online app marketplace to sell used clothing.
Together, the companies are hoping to create a social shopping experience on the Snapchat app.
Called Poshmark Mini, the new feature lets users browse curated products and view live shopping events.
They can also invite their friends to these so-called Posh Parties.
For Snapchat it’s a way to integrated the shopping experience within its app as users can make purchases without even leaving the app.
The feature will be added to the US app only for now.
“This partnership is a natural extension of our founding mission to put people at the heart of commerce and allows us to create more engaging, dynamic, and personalized shopping experiences everywhere consumers are,” said Steven Tristan Young, Poshmark’s chief marketing officer.
Poshmark hopes to reach a younger audience through the partnership. The app is allowing for a more community-driven manner to discover new products. By engaging with creators and brands, users are more likely to shop or spread news of a product and engage with brands.
According to Poshmark, people use the app an average 27 minutes a day.
