At the WWDC 2021, Apple unveiled changes to iOS 15 that make it easier for people stay in touch with friends and access content.
The updates include enhancements to FaceTime which will allow users to add multiple people to a video call for group calls.
Calls can also be scheduled in FaceTime on iPad and iPhone devices with iOS15.
Apple also showcased a SharePlay feature that lets users remote-view and schedule listening parties with friends. SharePlay also works with Disney+, HBO Max and Twitch.
The new Live Text addition makes it easier to copy text from photos and paste them to other docs and emails.
Users will be able to search photos for text which would make it much easier to e.g. follow directions or find critical details contained in images.
As expected, Apple is bolstering its privacy commitments and launched iCloud Private Relay that encrypts all traffic. In addition, iOS 15 users will receive an App Privacy Report that reports on app permissions.
Apple has also given its notifications and maps a makeover. A new Focus feature was added to block notifications for an amount of time that users can set themselves.
Meanwhile Maps will be available to view in a 3D version with landmarks displayed.
