There seems to be no stopping mobile games this year with the top 10 grossing mobile games generating some $1.4 billion of user spending in June 2021.
Each of the top 10 games generated $100 million or more individually – a record in spite of COVID-19 lockdown restrictions being lifted around the world.
The mobile gaming market has brought in $7.3 billion in consumer spending in June 2021 on the App Store and Google Play, an increase of 10%.
Honor of Kings by Tencent reached $277 million in player spending, a 21% growth over June last year.
According to new figures from SensorTower around 95.6% of the game’s revenues came from China, followed by 2% from Taiwan and 1.2% from Thailand.
PUBG Mobile from Tencent was the second highest earning mobile game at revenues of $213.8 million, an 11% rise from the previous year.
While the majority of the game’s revenue came from China (53.5%), the US was responsible for 11.2% in player spending.
Other top grossing games for June 2021 included Ni No Kuni Cross Worlds and Roblox.
