Pinterest launched a range of new tools for creators as part of its Pinterest Creators Festival.
Among them is a new watch tab which is a fullscreen feed of Idea Pins that users can scroll through and engage with.
Idea Pins showcase ideas that are relevant to Pinners’ tastes and preferences. Users can now both browse and watch these pins.
Tools like these are also aimed at Pinners looking to engage more meaningfully with their favourite creators.
Pinterest also added Takes which lets creators communicate with users in a more engaging manner. Creators can also add seasonal and interactive stickers, music tracks with editing tools, new video editing and recording capabilities and preview mode.
In an effort to help creators generate an income from their Pins, stoppable Pins can now include AR Try ons, which is an augmented reality beauty try-on tool. Creators can tag their Idea Pins with Try on stickers to add beauty products.
As part of the event, the platform launched its Creators Rewards program – the first in-product monetisation program for creators – which is a way for creators to be paid for their content.
Right now, the program is restricted to creators in the US through the Creator Hub.
Pinterest will also launch micro-grants for projects which creators are passionate about.
