YouTube surpassed $3 billion in global consumer spend during October 2021, according to App Annie.
The data reveals that spending was driven by iOS devices. It also ranks 7th for non-gaming apps by lifetime downloads globally.
YouTube ranks third for overall App Store consumer spend and it ranks at top for live streaming app spend.
The top markets according to spend included the US, Japan, Australia and Canada.
Much of the revenue growth can be attributed to the video platform’s continued diversification of its offering, including paid subscriptions and premium content.
The findings show that consumers don’t shy away from paying for a premium video viewing experience that is ad-free and on mobile.
