Honor of Kings by Tencent was the top grossing game at $329 million in October 2021, according to Sensor Tower.
The figure represents a 46% rise over the same month in 2020 with most of the revenue coming from China.
Another Tencent title followed in second rank – PUBG Mobile, which earned $197 million in gross revenues.
Overall, the mobile game market generated $7.5 billion from player spending on the App Store and Google Play in October 2021.
Candy Crush Saga continues its winning streak with revenues rising by around 50% year-on-year.
In terms of downloads, Garena Free Fire took the top spot its 34 million installs, a 72% jump compared to October 2020.
Installs were driven by India and Brazil.
Candy Challenge 3D was the second most installed mobile game globally with some 19 million installs.
Around 4.5 billion games were downloaded from the App Store and Google Play during October 2021, a 1.3% rise over 2020, with India accumulating 763 million installs or nearly 17% of the total globally. The US produced the second highest percentage of downloads with 8.6%, followed by Brazil at 8.3%.
