You can disable the Quick Note feature on your Mac if you're running macOS Monterey. Here's how you do it in a few easy steps.
Tired of Quick Note Accidentally Launching on Your Mac? You can Disable the Feature Right Now
Apple brought Quick Note feature to the Mac with macOS Monterey. The way it works is absolutely simple. Just take your mouse pointer to the bottom right corner of the display and you will see a small instance of the Notes app pop right up, allowing you to instantly jot down a brand new idea. It's always there and ready whenever you need it.
While this feature is great and all, it can become potentially annoying when you accidentally launch Quick Note over and over again in everyday use. Thankfully, you can disable Quick Note completely. But it's not as straightforward as you might think. You cannot just launch the Notes app and disable this feature from there. Notes literally doesn't have a Quick Note enable or disable toggle switch which puzzles us to this day. However, we will show you how you can disable this feature in a few easy steps.
Tutorial
Step 1. Launch System Preferences in macOS Monterey.
Step 2. Now click on Mission Control. Bet you didn't see this one coming at all.
Step 3. Click on Hot Corners on the bottom left hand corner.
Step 4. Click on the Quick Note option and disable it as shown in the screenshot below. If you like to move Quick Notes to some other corner, you can do that as well from here.
Once disabled, you can bump your mouse pointer in any corner of the display and Quick Note won't show itself ever again. If you do want to create a new note, just launch the Notes up like a regular human from now on. You can always reverse the change whenever you like.
In my workflow, having Quick Note around is extremely handy. I can simply bring it up to create lists, write down ideas as they strike and more. Again, your mileage may vary and this feature might be absolutely useless for you.
If you haven't ever tried Quick Note on your Mac, simply take your mouse pointer to the bottom right corner of the display and take the feature for a spin. Who knows you might end up liking it more than anything Apple has tossed in macOS Monterey!
