Packed with exciting new features, I'm pretty sure users are now interested in how to download tvOS 14 beta and install it onto their Apple TV set-top box. But before you do that, there are a few things that should be addressed. First and foremost, you must have a Developer Program account with Apple in order to have access to the beta. You can sign up for it by going to this link.
Secondly, while you can download and install tvOS 14 beta on both Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD, but you can only perform a clean installation on the HD model. The reason: Apple TV HD has a USB-C port, which means you can connect it to your PC or Mac using a USB-C cable and install updates the way you like them.
So, we are going to break down this tutorial into two parts: in the first one we will cover the Apple TV HD and in the second we will cover the HD model and the 4K model.

Clean Install tvOS 14 Beta Update on Apple TV HD

Note: Please make sure you have the latest version of Xcode installed on your Mac before going ahead with the update. Secondly, everything will be deleted on your Apple TV HD using this method.
Step 1. Sign into your Apple Developer Program account.
Step 2. Go to the Downloads section.
Step 3. Under Featured Downloads, find tvOS 14.
Step 4. Click on the blue Download button and download the tvOS 14 beta IPSW file and save it to your desktop.
Step 5. Connect a USB-C cable behind your Apple TV HD and plug the other end into your Mac.
Step 6. Launch Finder or iTunes and you will see your Apple TV pop right up. Click on the tiny Apple TV-like icon to reveal more details.
Step 7. Hold down the left Option key on your keyboard and then click on the Restore Apple TV button.
Step 8. Your Mac will now extract the contents of the IPSW file and restore it onto your Apple TV HD. This may take a while and you will receive a message on your computer once the installation is complete. After confirmation, you can unplug the USB-C cable and start using your Apple TV HD with tvOS 14 beta.

Download tvOS 14 Beta Over the Air on Apple TV 4K and HD

This method is aimed towards developers mainly. Just follow the steps below and you will have tvOS 14 beta running on your Apple TV HD and Apple TV 4K in no time.
Step 1. Make sure you have Xcode installed on your Mac.
Step 2. Make sure your Apple TV is on the same network as your Mac running Xcode.
Step 3. Go the Apple Developer Program website, sign in and then go to the Downloads section.
Step 4. Download the tvOS configuration profile from here and use Xcode to install it onto your Apple TV.
Step 5. Navigate to Settings > System > Software Updates and you can download the new tvOS 14 beta from here, over the air. You won't lose any files or settings once the installation is complete.
