First of all, you need to make sure that your device is compatible to run iOS 14 or iPadOS 14 beta. If it can run iOS 13 or iPadOS 13, then it will run the latest beta. But it does not hurt to check anyway, so head over to this link for more details:
Secondly, make sure that everything has been backed up properly since a clean install will wipe your iPhone or iPad well, clean! Having a backup in iTunes, Finder or iCloud should be your utmost priority before going ahead. If you don't have anything to back up, then just skip this step.
You must have an Apple Developer Program membership (sign-up here). It will set you back $99 on an annual basis, and is totally worth it if you want to test out Apple's latest software before anyone else. Your device's UDID must be registered with Apple. See the 'Register Device UDID' section here for more details. Last but not the least, download and install Xcode beta from the Apple Developer portal before performing the restore.
Tutorial
Step 1. Sign into Apple's Developer Program website.Step 2. Go to the Downloads section.
Step 3 Under Featured Downloads find the ISPW file you wish to install on your iPhone or iPad and save it to your desktop.
Step 4. Connect your device to your Mac using a Lightning cable or a USB-C cable if you have one of the latest iPad Pro tablets.
Step 5. Launch Finder or iTunes.
Step 6. As soon as your device shows up, click on it to reveal more options.
Step 7. Now press and hold the Option key on the keyboard and click on the Restore iPhone button.
Step 8. Select the IPSW file you downloaded from Apple's website and let it restore.
Yes, this process is super complicated and there are a lot of things you have to go through. Therefore, it is recommended that you stick with the over the air method. It's simple, it will work out for you in some capacity, and does not involve any computer or cables. The choice is yours which troubled road you want to take.
