WhatsApp wants to allow users to share messages and videos that disappear after they’ve been viewed once.
Fittingly, the mode is dubbed “view once” and as the name suggests means that any texts, photos or videos will vanish after the recipient views them.
The spirit of the feature borrows from Snapchat and Stories, both of which can only be viewed for a limited time.
The feature is meant to give users more control over their privacy.
However, users can still take a screenshot of a message before it disappears.
The company also more recently added end-to-end encryption to its messaging services.
