Instagram has launched longer Stories – its new 60-second video format for Stories.
This means that videos will no longer be split into shorter 15 second clips to fit on Stories.
Instagram said that the addition was still being tested and right now only select users were able to see the feature.
Longer Stories posts were a much requested feature by its community.
It follows a broader push by Instagram to simplify ideas for content creation and audience engagement across the platform and become more competitive with smash hit apps such as TikTok.
Instagram is far more segmented than TikTok. But the app hopes that its 60-second video clip expansion will boost users engagement and allow creators and brands to show off their content in a more meaningful manner.
