Over the past 12 months, ByteDance, the Chinese company best known for the TikTok app, generated $1 billion in player spending from its mobile games on the App Store and Google Play.
According to Sensor Tower estimates, ByteDance mobile games have been installed 139 million times over the past year, following acquisitions of gaming studies like Moonton and C4 Connect.
Its most successful title is Mobile Legends: Bang Bang with over 78 million downloads.
The game accounts for 56% of its installs and generated $318 million in revenues, accounting for 32% of player spending for the company.
Ragnarok X: Next Generation and Sweet Crossing: Snake.io ranked second and third for installs.
Indonesia generated some of the top downloads for ByteDance, accounting for 25% of installs, followed by China and the Philippines.
However, Japan was the group’s largest market for player spending accounting for 34% of revenues, driven by Girls Chronicle: Idle Heroine.
